Innovative Construction

The Nova Building’s construction was an engineering feat, employing a top-down excavation technique to address the site’s unique challenges. The development sits above a major 3-metre diameter sewer and adjacent to one of London’s busiest transport hubs. The top-down method allowed the superstructure and sub-basement to be built simultaneously, maintaining necessary ground pressure on the sewer and enabling rapid progress. This approach not only protected vital infrastructure but also allowed for early completion of residential units, expediting fit-out and marketing.
